Masses are 6:30 AM, 8:15 AM, 5:30 PM. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and is a day of fasting and abstinence. We mark our foreheads with ashes to remind ourselves that we are we are not of this world and are made for eternity with God.

Lenten Fish Fry Friday, March 8th 5:00 to 7:00 pm The Pope John Paul II 8th Grade Class is hosting a Lenten FISH FRY dinner at the Knights of Columbus Family Center, 3600 W. Purdue Road. Menu: Choice of fish sandwich or grilled cheese, French fries, coleslaw, green beans, dessert, and drink. Cost: Child (3 to 12) $4, Adult (13+) $8. All funds will be used to fund the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C.

There will be Mass with Bishop Doherty at 10 am here on Thursday and other fun-filled activities throughout the week for our students high-lighting our Catholic Schools. The “Main Event” which caps off our celebration of Catholic Schools Week will be on Saturday (Feb. 2 from 6:00 pm ~ 10:00 pm) at the Knights of Columbus. This is a wonderful time w/ dinner, friends & a night of fun for all adults. Everyone is invited, even if you don’t have children at St. Mary / St. Pope John Paul II Middle School. We are at the 1/2 way point of Advent. Two Sundays down—2 to go. This means Christmas is right around the corner. It also begs the question, “Have I gotten the baby Jesus a gift for his birthday yet?” He doesn’t want a material gift that you can buy at a store. All he wants is you and a pure and beautiful place where He can go and dwell when you receive Him in the Eucharist. Hint: Our penance Service is scheduled for Dec. 17th (Monday) at 6:30 pm.

The annual St. Isadore Festival will be held at the school on Saturday, October 27, from 10 am - 2 pm. There will be games, bounce houses, hay rides, a pumpkin patch, food, and tons of prizes! We also will be having a Trunk or Treat in the front church parking lot from 11 am - 1 pm. Dress in a family-friendly costume and go home with lots of candy!
