Register at St. Mary Parish?To register at St. Mary Parish, please pick up a welcome packet from any of the church entrances or stop by the Parish Office. You may also contact the Parish Office to have a form mailed to you. Once the registration form is completed, you may drop it off at the Parish Office, put it in the collection basket, return it by mail, or email parishoffice@stmarymuncie.org. |
Register at St. Mary School?St Mary offers an education for preschool through 8th grade. During the school year, registration forms for St. Mary School may be picked up at the School Office or can be mailed to interested families by contacting the School Office Coordinator. A non-refundable book and activity fee is due at the time of registration. St. Mary Elementary/Pope John Paul II Middle School’s admissions policy can be viewed on our website (www.stmarymuncie.org/school ) or mailed to you at your request. Contact the School Office Coordinator for more information or to schedule an appointment. Contact: School Office 288-5308 St. Mary Preschool registration forms are available in the School Office (during the school year) and in the Parish Office (during the summer). The registration fee for preschool is $50. This fee is non-refundable. Preschool is available for three, four and five -year-olds. |
Locate Lost and Found Items?A lost and found area for items left in the church is located in the cry room by the front entrance of the church. Items may also be turned in to the Parish Office. St. Mary Elementary & Pope John Paul II Middle School also have a lost and found box located outside the School Office for items left in the school. You may also contact the School Office for lost and found items. |
Arrange a Mass Intention?To arrange a Mass intention, please contact the Parish Office Secretary. If you are requesting a specific date, it is important to plan at least 8-9 months in advance. A donation in the amount of $10.00 is requested for each Mass intention. Please bring the donation to the Parish Office. |
Submit a Bulletin Announcement?To submit an article or announcement for the bulletin, please have the article or announcement to the Parish Office Secretary by noon on Friday two weekends before the announcement is to appear. Submissions may be handwritten or typed and brought to the Parish Office or e-mailed directly to bulletin@stmarymuncie.org. Articles or announcements may be shortened or modified depending on the space available and will appear in the body of the bulletin, not as separate inserts. |
Place an Announcement on the Church Bulletin Boards?All announcements to be placed on the church bulletin boards (located at all the church entrances) must be submitted to the Parish Office prior to being displayed. Announcements must be no larger than 8 ½ x 11 and can only be placed within the bulletin boards. (No posters or announcements may be taped on the church doors.) Please provide six copies to the Parish Office Secretary who will place the announcement on the boards. |
Place Items in the Church Pamphlet Racks?All information placed in the pamphlet racks (located by the interior church doors) must be approved prior to being displayed. If you wish to place an item in the pamphlet racks, please bring it to the Parish Office prior to making it available in the racks. |
Report a Maintenance or Repair Need?To report a maintenance problem or repair need, please contact the Parish Office. |
Schedule a Meeting or Event on the Parish Campus?To schedule a meeting or event, please contact the Parish Office as soon as possible before the event. Events to be held at St. Mary Elementary & Pope John Paul II Middle Schools must be held after 3:00 p.m. (during non-school hours). A parish-wide master calendar is maintained in the Parish Office for all available meeting spaces. The Parish Office Secretary must check the calendar for availability before the meeting or event can be scheduled. Once the event is scheduled, arrangements can be made to pick up the keys from the Parish Office. |
Arrange to Pick Up Keys Prior to a Scheduled Meeting or Event?Once you have scheduled an event or meeting on the St. Mary Parish campus, you must make arrangements with the Parish Office Secretary to pick up the keys for the building or room you will be using. Once the event or meeting is completed, please turn off all lights, turn down the heat or air conditioning if necessary, lock the room and/or building, and return the keys that same day to the drop box hanging on the wall in the Parish Office vestibule by the phone or the drop box outside the entrance to the Cyr Center. |
Participate in the Protection of Parish Children?To help assure the safety of children at the parish during parish-related events, new staff and volunteers who interact with children shall complete the Safe and Sacred online training and background check. Among other topics, the training session includes establishing and maintaining appropriate boundaries, signs and symptoms of abuse in minors, and laws, policies, and procedures to report abuse allegations. Training is valid for three years before it must be repeated. |
Request Assistance for Prescriptions?St. Mary Parish provides financial assistance and works with local pharmacies in obtaining prescription medication (excluding pain killers and certain other narcotics) for those in need in our local community. To request financial assistance for prescriptions, please contact the Parish Office. Monetary donations to help fund the financial assistance for prescriptions are welcome. |
Request Financial Assistance for Basic Needs?Through the gracious donation of late St. Mary parishioners Charles and Mary Newmier, a Benefit Fund was established to help provide for the basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, and medical expenses for fellow St. Mary parishioners. Through the gracious donation of St Mary parishioner Thomas Fiscel a Benefit Fund was established to help provide for the basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and medical expenses for any resident of Delaware County, IN. To pick up an application for this confidential process and assistance, please contact the Parish Office Secretary or speak directly to the Pastor. |
Request Reimbursement of Funds or Expenses?Before incurring any expense for which parish payment or reimbursement is expected, you must receive appropriate approval for the expenditure. Appropriate approval is generally from the organization president or treasurer (e.g., Women’s Association) or a designated staff member (e.g. Family Life/Youth Minister) who will ensure the expense is authorized and within the parish budget. Please see your individual group or ministry leader regarding parish reimbursement procedures and to ensure the expense is within budget prior to making any purchases. |
Make Checks Out for Parish Groups and Activities?St. Mary Parish uses a fund accounting system to track and monitor all income and expenses of the parish, its groups, and activities. Groups and organizations within the parish do not hold separate checking accounts. As such, all checks should be made out to St. Mary Parish. |
